On April 20, 1889, Adolph Hitler was born in Braunau am Inn, Austria-Hungry to Alois Schickelgruber and Klara Polzi (1). Driven by his hatred toward the Jewish and Marxists, in the early 20s, he began the National Socialist German Workers Party or Nazis in his Munich beer cellar to begin plotting his putsch (insurrection) (1). Within a decade, by August 1933, he had usurped dictatorial power with the financial aid of big businesses and the Reichstag (1). With Hitler in power, Germany's terror was only beginning. But things were not much better in the United States, as we left the Roaring Twenties and slid straight into the Great Depression Era. However, decades from now, the American people will still consider those good times when comparing them to the here and now.
