Biography Brief - Earl Herron (January 7, 1918 - January 26, 1977)

PARENTS/SIBLINGS:  Earl Herron
was born on January 7, 1918, in Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama [1-5].  He was the ninth child of the ten known born to James Thomas Herron (May 21, 1879-July 28, 1966} and Mintie Ardiona Cheatham (July 1879-June 16, 1951) [6-38].   His siblings included the following [6-38]:
  1. Mamie Ethel Herron, b.  September 30, 1900, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d.  April 20, 1972, Jasper, Walker County, Alabama, USA.
  2. Walter James Herron,  b.  September 10, 1902, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d.  July 13, 1970, Merrillville, Lake County, Indiana, USA.
  3. Clarence Herron, b.  June 04, 1904, Pocahontas, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d.  April 20, 1986, Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama, USA.
  4. Flossie Herron, b.  February 12, 1906, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d.  December 07, 1996, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA.
  5. Edgar Herron, b.  February 01, 1908, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d.  June 07, 2005, Nauvoo, Walker County, Alabama, USA.
  6. Donnie Mae Herron, b.  August 04, 1910, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d.  November 08, 1995, Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, USA.
  7. Grady Herron, b.  December 14, 1912, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d.  August 19, 2008, Jasper, Walker County, Alabama, USA.
  8. Esther Louise Herron, b.  January 31, 1915, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d.  November 13, 2003, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA.
  9. Ernest Herron, b.  August 17, 1920, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d.  April 18, 1971, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA.


MARRIAGE:  On August 31, 1940, in Walker County, Alabama, Earl married Quinta Lovell Nix [39-43].  Born June 21, 1920, in Prospect, Walker County, Alabama, Lovell was the daughter of Henry Volley Nix and Mary Etta Lawson [44-57].


CHILDREN:  The marriage of Earl and Quinta produced the following children [39-43, 58-62]: 
  1. Sondra Jane Herron, b. March 10, 1942, Walker County, Alabama, USA
  2. Phillip Randall Herron, b.  February 28, 1948, Port Angeles, Clallam County, Washington, USA.


DEATH:  On January 26, 1977, in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, Earl died at 62 [1-4].   Thirty-one years later, in Birmingham, Lovell passed away on February 8, 2008 [44].   She was 87 [1, 44].  Their interments are in New Flatwoods Cemetery in Flatwoods, Walker County, Alabama [1, 44].
