PARENTS/SIBLINGS
James Thomas "Jim" Herron was born May 21, 1879, in Walker County, Alabama [1-8].   He was the third of eight known children born to Hiram Herron (July 25, 1850-September 15, 1909) and Martha Frances Guttery (February 18, 1850-January 15, 1927) [9-24].    James's siblings included the following [9-24]:  
  1. Elijah Isham Herron, b. December 06, 1873, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. March 10, 1875, Walker County, Alabama, USA.
  2. Newman Herron, b. May 16, 1876, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. November 21, 1893, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA.
  3. Arminda Elvira Herron, b. August 05, 1881, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. August 02, 1976, Graysville, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA.
  4. Cora Ann Herron, b. November 28, 1883, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. April 27, 1960, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA.
  5. Julia Frances Herron, b. April 04, 1886, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. August 28, 1965, Nauvoo, Walker County, Alabama, USA.
  6. Savannah Silvany Herron, b. August 25, 1888, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. February 18, 1958, Saragossa, Walker County, Alabama, USA.

MARRIAGE:  On September 10, 1899, James Thomas married Mintie Ardiona "Ann" Cheatham in Saragossa, Walker County, Alabama.   Born in September 1879 in Walker County, Alabama, Mintie was the daughter of James Wyatt Cheatham (November 3, 1837-July 28, 1909) and Lydia Ann Leonard (April 1842-January 28, 1919) [25-27].

HILDREN:  The marriage of James Thomas Herron and Mintie Ardiona Cheatham produced ten children [32-62]. They were the following [32-62]:

  2. Walter James Herron, b. September 10, 1902, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. July 13, 1970, Merrillville, Lake County, Indiana, USA.
  3. Clarence Herron, b. June 04, 1904, Pocahontas, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. April 20, 1986, Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama, USA.
  4. Flossie Herron, b. February 12, 1906, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. December 07, 1996, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA.
  5. Edgar Herron, b. February 01, 1908, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. June 07, 2005, Nauvoo, Walker County, Alabama, USA.
  6. Donnie Mae Herron, b. August 04, 1910, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. November 08, 1995, Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, USA.

DEATH:
  On June 16, 1951, in Walker County, Alabama, Mintie died after a brief illness [25, 63-65]. She was seventy. Fifteen years later, James passed away at 87 on July 28, 1966, in Jasper, Walker County, Alabama [1-6]. Both interments are in Scott Cemetery in Saragossa, Walker County, Alabama [1, 25].
