PARENTS/SIBLINGS: Mamie Ethel Herron was born on September 30, 1900, in Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama [1-3]. She was the oldest of the ten known children born to James Thomas Herron (May 21, 1879-July 28, 1966) and Mintie Ardiona Cheatham (July 1879-June 16, 1951) [4-36]. Her siblings included the following [4-36].

- Clarence Herron, b. June 04, 1904, Pocahontas, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. April 20, 1986, Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama, USA.
- Flossie Herron, b. February 12, 1906, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. December 07, 1996, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA.
- Edgar Herron, b. February 01, 1908, Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama, USA; d. June 07, 2005, Nauvoo, Walker County, Alabama, USA.

MARRIAGE: In December 1921, Mamie married Columbus Burleson "Burl" Garner. Born March 25, 1901, in Hamilton, Marion County, Alabama, Burl was the son of William Henry Garner and Rhoda Arminda Terry [37-58].
CHILDREN: The marriage of Mamie and Columbus produced a son, Columbus Earl Garner [59-64]. Sadly, his life ended the same day it began on November 11, 1922, in Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama [59-64].
DEATH: At seventy, on April 20, 1972, Mamie died in Jasper, Walker County, Alabama [1-3]. Thirteen years later, on August 11, 1985, Burl passed away in Jasper [37-40]. He was eighty-four [37]. Mamie and Burl's interments are in Scott Cemetery in Saragossa, Walker County, Alabama [1, 37].
