PARENTS: Grady Herron was born on December 14, 1912, in Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama [1-5]. He was the 7th child of 10 children born to Mintie Ann Cheatham (July 1879-June 16, 1951) and James Thomas Herron (May 21, 1879-July 28, 1966) [6-26]. Grady's siblings included [6-26]:

MILITARY SERVICE: Grady served as a Private in the United States Army during World War II from February 11, 1941, until December 27, 1944 [27-31]. Honorably discharged due to a medical condition of hydronephrosis, Grady served in the military for three years and six months [27-31].
MARRIAGE: On March 4, 1946, in Arley, Winston County, Alabama, Grady married Doris Allene Barton [33-41]. Born January 23, 1924, in Jasper, Walker County, Alabama, Doris was the daughter of James McKinley Barton (January 1, 1900-March 6, 1969) and Anita Valeria Walls(December 31, 1899-April 9, 1987) [42-57].

- Patricia Anita Herron, b. August 21, 1952, Jasper, Walker County, Alabama, USA.
DEATH: On August 19, 2008, in Jasper, Walker County, Alabama, Grady passed away [1-3, 60-62]. His remains are in Walker Memory Gardens in Jasper, beside his wife, Doris, who passed before him on March 28, 2005 [44-46].
